Trimac Innovation Summit Gathers Leaders to Tackle Top Challenges in Transportation
Published on September 18, 2025

CALGARY, ALTA.—Trimac Transportation hosted its annual Innovation Summit from Sept. 15 to 17 at Platform Calgary in Alberta, bringing together key customers, industry leaders, and innovators to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in transportation and logistics.
The summit focused on critical topics such as driver attraction and retention, shipper expectations, data standardization, network efficiency, and driver optimization. It served as a collaborative space for Trimac and its long-term partners to explore disruptive technologies and future-forward solutions.
The Innovation Summit was created in 2018 as a commitment to our core clients that Trimac will stay engaged with our customers’ journeys and gain the internal skills, general knowledge, and ecosystem to survive undeniable changes in the technology space.
This year’s event featured a panel of leaders from companies including Suncor, Lhoist, Heidelberg, Obsidian, Sanjel, FMIS, Knelsen, and Parkland. Attendees participated in an innovation workshop focused on strategic innovation issues anchored in day-to-day business challenges and a supply chain expo featuring pitches from emerging logistics and supply chain startups looking to reshape bulk transportation.
A few of the companies that pitched to the panel included SpikeFli Analytics Corp, Ayrton Energy, EnviroApps Inc., Binoloop, The Reporting Hub and SensorUp. The participating companies leverage advanced technologies like AI, data analytics, and SaaS platforms to solve industry-specific challenges across sectors such as telecom, energy, real estate, government and safety. Their solutions focus on improving efficiency, compliance, decision-making, and cost savings through automation, real-time insights and user-friendly interfaces.
“The energy at the Innovation Summit reminded us that progress happens when we listen, collaborate, and challenge convention together,” said Stephanie Simon, Trimac’s Vice President of Sales, who opened the event with a keynote address.
“The sessions were insightful and encouraged valuable dialogue,” said Ipek Akso, Operations Manager at Fort McKay Industrial Solutions. “It was an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and build connections.”
Trimac looks forward to continuing this tradition of innovation, collaboration, and industry leadership at future summits.
