Through the use of web-based eBusiness technologies Trimac has integrated its systems and processes with the enterprise systems of its customers and third party logistics providers.
Trimac has integrated industry-leading technologies to form a unique and seamless Enterprise Resource Planning system for Transportation (ERP/T). Components of this include:
- Trimac’s dispatch system supports branch operation optimization for order entry, dispatch, trip planning, invoicing and driver settlement.
- Trimac has excellent capabilities for analyzing and reporting logistics data and is able to produce a wide range of information to meet a customer’s reporting needs.
- Satellite communications using devices in the tractors for shipment tracking, monitoring and driver communications for next loads and additional trip information.
- On board computers for short haul management.
- EDI transaction exchange with customers who are EDI enabled.
- A shop management system for vehicle and trailer maintenance, integrated with the dispatch system, to contribute to safety by ensuring that only fully maintained and cleaned equipment is dispatched.
- A cleaning management system that supports tank-cleaning activities including cleaning methods, wastewater management, waste disposal, and regulatory compliance. The cleaning management system is integrated with the dispatch system to prevent product contamination.
- A leading commercial Enterprise Resource Planning system supports best practices in Finance and Administration services.
- A utility designed to optimize petroleum inventory management, fleet scheduling, and asset utilization is used in the petroleum transport sector. The system determines order requirements based on dip readings captured using an Interactive Voice Response system or received directly from customers with electronic tank monitoring equipment.
Trimac operates a Help Desk on a 7x24x365 basis using leading edge tools to monitor system and network activities and to provide rapid assistance to customers and internal staff on Trimac systems operations and functionality.
eBusiness Technologies
Trimac exchanges traditional EDI transactions with customers who are EDI enabled. The transaction sets supported include invoicing, shipment status, payment order/remittance advice, shipping and billing notice.
Trimac has the capability and extensive experience in integrating its dispatch and billing systems with the ERP systems of its customers. Order acknowledgements, load status information, and billing information can be sent to customer systems, shipper hubs or third party payers using Electronic Document Interchange (EDI) transactions. Using these capabilities Trimac is also providing order-taking services for its major customers. Full security measures have been implemented including firewalls and encryption to ensure the security of customer transactions. | |
