Scope of Operations USATrimac Transportation Inc. is the business unit responsible for Trimac Transportation System’s U.S.-based operations.
With branches throughout the United States, Trimac is uniquely qualified to respond to most service demands in our nation's key bulk commodity shipping locations and traffic lanes. Trimac’s association with Inter-Mex and Jorge Ancer complements the Canada-US-Mexico transportation activities.
In the U.S., Trimac operates over one-thousand tractors and over two-thousand bulk trailers. These trailers include MC-307/DOT-407, stainless steel variety, and various dry bulk commodities, including cement, coal, fly ash, lime and dry plastics. Trimac also has company-owned cryogenic CO2 trailers. Trimac utilizes both independent contractors and company drivers. All independent contractors’ equipment is under lease to Trimac and is operated under the same stringent maintenance and safety program as company owned equipment. Drivers for independent contractors are also subject to the same hiring, safety and performance requirements as company drivers. Over ninety percent (95%) of Trimac's company drivers and owner operators are non-union. The remaining three percent (3%) focuses on a variety of specialized services.
Trimac Transportation Inc’s. trucking revenue comes from:
- Liquid chemical hauling, principally in the Eastern and Gulf Coast regions of the United States.
- Petroleum related products, primarily in the Rocky Mountains and Southwest United States.
- Industrial gases.
- Inedible dry bulk shipments, predominantly serviced by its dry bulk and mining services operations in Texas and the Rocky Mountain states.
Trimac also has a fifty percent (50%) ownership position in Harris Transportation, a Portland, Oregon based petroleum hauler.
We operate over forty maintenance shops and washracks, including an ASME-certified shop in Houston, TX.
